Former Ikea CEO Peter Agnefjäll and current Swanson CEO Katie Doyle are joining the supervisory board at Ahold Delhaize on 10 April. They will succeed Rob van den Bergh and Mark McGrath, who will both retire.
“International experience and expertise”
Agnefjäll was president and CEO at Ikea Group between 2013 and 2017, after a long period of climbing the hierarchy at the Swedish retailer. Currently he also is director at both consumer goods supplier Orkla and Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air. Moreover, he is employed as adviser at German shoe retailer Deichmann. Doyle is CEO at wellness brand Swanson, as well as director at packaging manufacturer Bemis and Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry.
“We are pleased to propose Katie and Peter for appointment to the Supervisory Board,” chairman Jan Hommen says in a press release, “both of whom bring extensive international experience and expertise in retail. They bring valuable knowledge and competencies to the Supervisory Board as Ahold Delhaize implements its strategy for an era of retail focused on omnichannel growth, technology and health.”
The two newcomers are to succeed Rob Van den Bergh en Mark McGrath, who will retire from the Belgo-Dutch company’s supervisory board after serving there for eight and eleven years, respectively.
