Dutch dairy group FrieslandCampina has appointed Jan Derck van Karnebeek as its new CEO. He will succeed Hein Schumacher, who is leaving for Unilever.

Van Karnebeek will join the company from 1 June, one month after current CEO Hein Schumacher leaves the company to become top executive at Unilever.
Van Karnebeek spent most of his international career at Heineken and is currently CEO of horticulture company GreenV. He takes the helm at FrieslandCampina at a crucial time: the dairy group experienced an absolute peak year in 2022 thanks to historically high milk prices, but expects falling prices and volumes this year.
