Among the interested parties is also the Gerbi family, the former owners of the brand. Investment funds Naxicap, KKR and Chenavari have also shown an interest in an acquisition.

Investment fund Advent paid some 300 million euro for the clothing brand in 2008. Gérard Darel currently has some 300 stores and half of those are in France. On a global basis, the company employs 1,100 people and it generates a yearly turnover of 200 million euro.
