Hanneke Faber, head of eCommerce and innovation at Ahold Delhaize, will leave the company at the end of the year. Her new employer is Unilever, where she will lead the European division.
More shared knowledge
Faber led Bol.com, which will now fall under the responsabilities of Wouter Kolk – along with his current activities as head of supermarket chains Albert Heijn and Delhaize. Peapod, Ahold Delhaize’s American online supermarket was already transferred to Ahold USA’s COO, Kevin Holt, starting February 2017.
That was a deliberate move by Ahold Delhaize: seeing how offline and online are increasingly moving in each other’s direction, the company decided to move the web shops to the directors responsible for the supermarkets. This should help intensify the collaboration and improve the web shops’ operations through shared knowledge.
Dick Boer, Ahold Delhaize CEO, says he regrets Faber will leave the company. “I want to thank Hanneke for her valuable contribution to Ahold Delhaize and her energy and inspiration in defining and executing our digital and omni-channel growth strategy. She leaves us well on track to deliver close to €3 billion of online consumer sales in 2017, and nearly €5 billion by 2020”, he said in a press release.
Ahold Delhaize will look for a new eCommerce director, but with other responsibilities.
