Intermarché has appointed an executive director in Belgium: Arnaud Meyrant leaves Louis Delhaize Group to lead Intermarché’s Belgian branch, together with two independent supermarket entrepreneurs.
Complete Mestdagh merger
On 1 April, Meyrant will take charge of the supermarket support activities and will be responsible for “the completion of the ongoing integration projects”, in other words: the integration of the 83 former Mestdagh stores it acquired in 2021.
Meyrant will work closely with the two chairmen of the board of directors, Antoine Florival and Philippe Guilpain, both entrepreneurs within the Intermarché network. Together, they are tasked with professionalising the organization and maintaining the growth dynamic.
The new structure coincides with a new growth phase for Intermarché in Belgium: it doubled its Belgian turnover in 2023, then managed to grow another 11 % in 2024, meaning a significant increase in market share.
