IzyCoffee is looking to raise a million euros in a new capital round, aiming to open sixteen outlets by the end of 2025 – both in Belgium and abroad.
Growth through alternative financing
The company, that started as a coffee truck in West-Flanders, has grown into a chain of 22 branches in six years’ time. The chain’s turnover grew by almost 80 % to 4.5 million euros this year, while its EBITDA margin improved from 11.5 % in 2023 to more than 15 %. A significant part of this growth has been achieved thanks to alternative financing methods, including several crowdfunding campaigns. The first campaign in 2019 raised 150,000 euros, which enabled the chain to open two new locations.
Today, the coffee chain is seeking more funds than ever: the latest funding round, launched on 17 December, aims to raise a million euros. Those funds should then leverage additional funding, with a total target of 3.3 million euros. That capital will be used to open sixteen new premises next year, in Belgium but also abroad. IzyCoffee wants to focus on flagship stores in high-traffic locations, which should be able to sell between 500 and 1,000 cups of coffee on peak days.
