British JD Sports’ turnover grew by almost a quarter to 809.9 million pounds (1.1 billion euro), while growth on a comparable base was 10 % thanks to excellent sales of well-known brands like Nike. That has helped pre-tax profit to grow 82 % to 46.6 million pounds (64 million euro). By comparison, only one year earlier, profit reached 25.5 million pounds (35 million euro).
JD Sports has 690 stores worldwide, with the majority in the United Kingdom. The company is working on its expansion plans however, with store openings in Spain, the Netherlands, France, Germany and Belgium.
