JDE Peet’s reaches agreement with Delhaize and Albert Heijn

JDE Peet’s now also has an agreement with Ahold Delhaize: Douwe Egberts, Senseo and Pickwick products are returning to the shelves at Albert Heijn and Delhaize, following a boycott due to ‘excessive’ price increases.

Soon available again

Last week, coffee producer JDE Peet’s already announced that it had an agreement with Jumbo, Picnic and Edeka and reached agreements with retailers for 90% of global sales. Now Ahold Delhaize also confirms that the dispute is over and that the products will soon be available in stores again.

At Delhaize, deliveries resume from Wednesday, spokesman Roel Dekelver confirmed to RetailDetail. The products will therefore be back on store shelves later this week. JDE Peet’s brands are also back at Albert Heijn: online they are available again with immediate effect and should be back in stores by the end of this week, a spokesperson tells Distrifood. Like Jumbo, Picnic and Edeka, the retailer does have to accept hefty price increases. These will not be passed on in full to customers.

JDE Peet’s was forced to sharply increase prices for coffee because prices on the world market rose sharply after crop failures. However, according to many retailers, the requested increases of 20-30% were disproportionate.
