Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo has found a temporary CEO to succeed Ton van Veen: Tom Heidman will take over ad interim, pending the appointment of a new CEO.
Smooth transfer
Jumbo’s search for a new CEO takes time: the retailer wants to find someone who wants to get involved for the long term. The chain has therefore decided to appoint an interim CEO: Heidman will start this Saturday. This means he can ensure a smooth transfer with his predecessor, who will step down on 1 April.
Heidman is an experienced food retail manager, and was CEO of C1000 when that chain was acquired by Jumbo. He has also held management positions at Albert Heijn, Gall & Gall and Retail Network, and has been a commissioner at food companies such as Vion, Vermaat, Euroma and Remia.
