Master franchise for China
Liu Jo currently has 46 Chinese single brand stores and 6 outlets, starting
its local presence in 2002. It aims to quadruple its current number within 5 years, thanks to a “master franchise agreement” with China
Resources Textiles, exclusive owner of Chinese selling rights for big brands as Calvin Klein,
Esprit, Kenzo and Givenchy.
Founded in 1995 by brothers Marco and Vannis Marchi, Liu Jo broke through in 2008 thanks to its
Bottom-up jeans collection. From 2011 onwards, Kate Moss is the brand’s famous
representative.
Liu Jo currently has 5,500 stores worldwide, with the majority located in Europe. The Italian company is seeing rapid growth, coming from a 2005 turnover of
91 million euro to a 2011 turnover of
260 million euro. Net profits have increased from 12 to 31 million euro,
while the workforce has expanded from 174 people to 394.
