As turnover and profit growth have returned to Belgian restaurant chain Lunch Garden, owning family Brenninkmeijer (who also own fashion chain C&A) are looking to capitalise.
Transformation
The Brenninkmeijer family is looking for ways to sell its restaurant chain, Belgian newspaper De Tijd says. The family had acquired the ailing restaurant chain in 2015 through its investment fund Bregal Freshstream.
CEO Annick Van Overstraeten has really transformed Lunch Garden since taking the helm in 2010: in nine years time the chain went from being low in investments and having a bad image, to a chain with modernised restaurants, lower costs, better food and a very successful loyalty card.
In 2017, the chain saw turnover rise to 145 million euros and profit margins rise to 16 % of turnover: the fifth consecutive year of growth for Lunch Garden.
