Start of modernisation
Maidment has been working at Ben Sherman since
2002. In 2005 he was named creative director and became responsible for product
design and marketing. The last few years he modernised the brand, putting it
higher on the market and focusing solely on men’s fashion. This was underlined
by changes made in the shops.
This year Ben Sherman celebrates its fiftieth
anniversary: the company was founded in 1963. It has consistently used musical
icons such as The Beatles, Radiohead, Blur and The Clash in its marketing
campaigns.
At the same time as the appointment of
Maidment, Ben Sherman announced Lindsay Dunsmuir would be appointed as
financial director.
