Largest in Venlo
The new distribution center, the largest in Venlo with its 92,900 sqm size, will also be environmentally friendly. It will use LED lights, while solar panels will be placed on the roof. Construction will start next month.
“The construction of a new, innovative distribution center is an important and exciting step in Michael Kors’ evolution“, John D. Idol (chairman and CEO) said. “Its size and refinement reflect our efforts to create substantial growth in all our European and Middle Eastern distribution channels.”
Michael Kors had already acquired a storage facility in Enschede last year and the year before that, it had opened a distribution center in Oldenzaal. It is unclear whether that one will remain open once the new distribution center in Venlo becomes fully operational.
