Liquor manufacturer Pernod Ricard has signed a deal to acquire gin Monkey 47‘s majority of shares. The German gin brand has to provide additional growth in the increasingly popular gin segment of the market.
“Same values”
“Ever since 2011, we have admired Monkey 47’s development and we are happy that we can help shape this fantastic brand’s future alongside our partner. We share the same values that have given Monkey 47 its success, like authenticity, entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for quality”, Pernod Ricard chairman and CEO, Alexandre Ricard, said.
Monkey 47 is also very happy to have this collaboration. “The Pernod Ricard collaboration was a personal decision. The company, led by Alexandre Ricard, distinguishes itself, like with its strong entrepreneurial spirit. It is also a partner that has a lot of respect and passion for its brands, which is very important to them”, Monkey 47’s founder, Alexander Stein, said.
