The very first Dutch Quetzal Chocoladebar will open its doors on 1 September in Amersfoort. The store formula offers artisan chocolate milk, chocolate and brownies, created in a sustainable fashion. The Belgian franchise chain intends to open 3 to 5 Dutch stores this year alone.
Expand into large cities
Franchisee Bob van der Heul will manage the store, located in the Kamperbinnenpoort in Amersfoort. The entrepreneur has plenty of experience in small-scale and large-scale stores, while master franchisee Robert Hoenderdos wants to expand into large Dutch cities. He is currently talking to 10 potential franchisees in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Amersfoort, Den Bosch, Haarlem, Hoofddorp, Leiden and Maastricht.
Quetzal currently has chocolate bars in Louvain and Antwerp (Belgium), Chemnitz and Leipzig (Germany). It targets chocolate lovers, but also offers milkshakes, ice cream, fruit, waffles and other drinks. The flavours, smells, colours and sounds in the store are all in tune with each other, giving it is own type of charisma.
