Real and other retailers create new procurement alliance

Food5 April, 2017

Similar to many other retailers joining forces in a purchase alliance, German Real and several other retailers have created the RTG Retail Trade Group.

Match major German chains

The RTG Retail Trade Group consists of six companies: Real, Netto Germany, Bartels-Langness, Bünting, Klaas & Kock and Georg Jos. Together, they hope this joint venture will enable them to “match the major German chains” and to create synergies and increased scale when it comes to procurements.

The first steps taken will be in the fields of non-food and food, although the alliance will also provide a platform for the suppliers and retailers to connect and discuss business. Later on, the collaboration could possibly expand into eCommerce and logistics as well. The joint venture is already pre-approved and started work on 3 April.
