Belgian meat producer Ter Beke has acquired Imperial Meat Products, the Belgian-Dutch activities of the Spanish Campofrio group and producer of brands such as Aoste, Marcassou and Stegeman.
Quick sale
With five Belgian sites accounting for a turnover of 230 million euros, Imperial Meat Products commercialises the brands Aoste and Marcassou (Belgium) and Stegeman (the Netherlands). Only yesterday did the Belgian newspaper De Tijd report that the group was for sale and that Ter Beke showed interest. Aoste and Marcassou would be a good addition to the listed manufacturer’s range of meat products, the paper thought.
The British Hilton Food Group – an important supplier to supermarket chains Delhaize and Albert Heijn – was also said to be interested, but the company denies that this was the case.
