Wim Destoop is leaving PepsiCo after a 24-year career. Romanian Bogdan Savin succeeds him.
“Amazing journey”
The Belgian national worked for FMCG giant PepsiCo for 24 years: first in his own country, where he progressed from sales director over commercial director to general manager, then (from 2014) at Benelux level and then within the European organisation. In recent years, he was Senior Vice President of Pepsico Northern Europe.
Destoop reported the surprising news via an email to his contacts: “It was an amazing journey I can only be proud of. It’s time for some new adventures now. Enjoying the life after PepsiCo.”
Savin, who is currently SVP Commercial Europe, will take over responsibility for the Northern Europe business unit from 1 July, the company announces. The Romanian joined PepsiCo six years ago as General Manager in Russia. Before that, he had worked at British American Tobacco for fourteen years.
