5.5 million tickets
From Saturday 26 April to Saturday 31 May, the event runs in 176 participating cities and uses the slogan “Elke dag fietsen, elke dag winnen”. Every consumer that participates can win a prize every day through a Belgerinkel-ticket which contains a unique code.
“Last year, we have had 60,000 participants“, according to project manager Yanti Ehrentaut of Bond Beter Leefmilieu. “We have already passed out 5.5 million tickets among 9,600 retailers that have entered the event. Ehrentaut believes the number of 10,000 participating stores will definitely be reached.
The people behind the initiative have a ecological and economic goal with the event, in its 13th year now: customers by bike are not only good for the environment, they also choose local retailers more often.
