4 Dutch board members
Dick Boer, Ahold CEO, will also be the CEO of the merger company, while Delhaize CEO Frans Muller (also a Dutch citizen) will assume the roles of deputy CEO and Chief Integration Officer. Ahold CFO, British Jeff Carr, will stay on in that particular position.
The remainder of the board consists of Pierre Bouchut (Delhaize’s French Chief Financial Officer) and the two CEO’s of Ahold and Delhaize’s American divisions, British James McCann and American Kevin Holt. McCann and Holt will keep their position in the merger company, while Bouchut will become the Chief Operating Officer for Europe.
Hanneke Faber, the new Chief E-Commerce & Innovation Officer, Jan Ernst de Groot (Chief Legal Officer), Abbe Luersman (Chief Human Resources Officer) and Marc Croonen (Chief Transformation & Communication Officer) will make the remainder of the board. Everyone, aside from Marc Croonen, comes from Ahold.
That means the board consists of 1 Belgian, a Frenchman, 2 Americans, 2 Brits and 4 Dutch people.
