Amazon intends to create as many as 1,800 jobs in France, spread out across twenty sites of the e-commerce giant throughout the country. France is Amazon’s third biggest market in Europe.
Tripled in four years
American corporation Amazon will be recruiting some 1,800 new employees throughout France. That will put the number of staff members at 9,300. The jobs will be spread out across all twenty sites in France, including the distribution centre that is about to be opened in Bretigny-sur-Orge. “We’re looking for all kinds of profiles“, said Frederic Duval, CEO of Amazon France in Le Figaro. The company wants to hire people in logistics, team leaders and people in support functions.
“In four years, we’ve tripled our staff in France, which shows we keep making an effort for our customers and companies throughout the whole nation,” Duval continues.
Third biggest market
After the UK and Germany, France is Amazon’s third biggest European market. Many francophone Belgians also place orders on the French site or app.
Amazon has invested over two billion euros in France since 2010. The company dominates French e-commerce with an estimated marketshare of about 17%.
