First project under new CEO
The web shop welcomed 90 million visitors last year and that had a major effect, as a quarter of all bikes were sold online. To build on that success, the company will now expand the web shop’s product range extensively. For the launch of its online marketplace, Halfords convinced more than 30 partners, including Toolsave, Kiddimoto and e-bikes direct.
The market place It is one of the first major projects since Jill McDonald was appointed as Halfords CEO. She led fast food chain McDonald’s British operations until March 2015, when she was asked to replace Matt Davies at Halfords after he decided to transfer to Tesco to lead its British branch. McDonald will now have to implement Halfords’ new strategic vision, designed by Davies before he left. One of its key pillars is the sale of bikes.
