After 23 years at De Bijenkorf, Giovanni Colauto is stepping down as CEO. His successor, Matthijs Visch, comes over from Patagonia.
Starting on 14 June
Visch has been general manager of Patagonia EMEA for two years, pushing Patagonia’s growing business in the region with a total of eleven shops. Before that, he spent twenty years at Nike, where he held various executive positions in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the United States and Japan.
Colauto joined De Bijenkorf in 2001 as CFO and became CEO eleven years later. Visch take up his new office on 14 June and will report to André Maeder, CEO of Selfridges Group, which operates eighteen luxury department stores under four brands in three countries: Selfridges in the United Kingdom, Brown Thomas and Arnotts in Ireland and de Bijenkorf in the Netherlands.
