Position switch
Both men will keep their position for two years and have the support of an invigorated board of directors, consisting of Maura Latina (Coop Italia’s general manager), Michel Edouard Leclerc (E. Leclerc’s president), Frédéric Le Gall (board member at E. Leclerc) and David Vander Scheuren (Delhaize Europe’s vice-president).
Delhaize has only been an official part of the Coopernic purchase alliance since 1 January 2015. Previously, it was a part of AMS, but departed from that group as its main stakeholder Ahold moved into Delhaize’s Belgian home territory. On the other hand, Coopernic had just lost several members, which launched a new group called CORE: Belgian Colruyt, German Rewe, Swiss Coop and Italian Conad.
