Turnover up 72 %
Flying Tiger currently has 10 stores in the Netherlands, twice as much as early last year, and those 5 additional stores have helped increase its turnover 72 %. In the next few years, the company aims to quadruple its number of stores, but it is struggling to find the appropriate store locations.
The company is mainly known for its ever-evolving array of low-priced products. Annemieke Degens Dil, who owns half of Flying Tiger’s Dutch joint-venture, refuses to label it as a discounter though: “We are not focused on price points and we never have something on sale”, she told the Financieele Dagblad.
Everything comes from Denmark and Flying Tiger designs about half of the items in-house, adding some 300 to 400 new products every month.
Currently, the chain is present in 21 countries with 320 stores and generates a worldwide turnover of 228 million euro. on a worldwide scale, it has a pace of three new store openings per week.
