More than half of online shops in Belgium and the Netherlands are not yet ready for the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which comes into force in a year’s time. Yet they could reach over a quarter more people with some small tweaks.

In June 2025, the European Accessibility Act will take effect. With that Act, the European Union wants to set requirements on the accessibility of digital products and services for people with disabilities. However, international research shows that few companies already meet these requirements.
