Online optician Mister Spex opened its very first physical store in the German capital of Berlin. It already has a presence with 500 partner stores, but this is its very first store of its own.

The 150 sqm store will present about 1,400 frames and lenses, while it has about 7,000 frames available online. Customers can also get their eyes checked in the store or get their frames adjusted. The store’s employees can also help the customer browse the company’s online product range.
It should also be a testing ground for new ideas, which can then be transferred to its online store or its partner stores. “eCommerce will continue to be our core business“, co-managing director Mirko Caspar stated in a press release.
Mister Spex’ glasses are available at about 550 partner stores, all across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Those partners stores get a percentage on Mister Spex’ sales, which allows the online seller to offer certain physical services, like eye tests, to its customer base.
