Belgian real estate firm Mitiska REIM has added the Netherlands to the series of European markets it is active in. With the acquisition of Retail Centre De Lely, the Netherlands join Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Spain.
Mitiska REIM now present ten countries in Europe
Retail Centre De Lely in Arnhem features fifteen retail units with a gross leasable area of 10,800 sqm, attracting 1.5 million visitors annually to shops like Lidl and Jumbo. With this description, the centre fits in Mitiska REIM’s focus on open-air commercial parks above 3,000 sqm with at least five retailers, typically including a major supermarket to attract daily visitors.
Investment director Bram Thomas adds: “Retail Centre De Lely is a strong performing site with high customer footfall, well positioned for shoppers’ daily needs by offering three supermarkets and a range of necessity-driven retail brands. Through our value-add investment approach, we see additional opportunities to upgrade the site and the retail mix in the near future.”
“We are delighted to have entered the Netherlands with this latest acquisition. Mitiska REIM is now present across ten countries in Central, Western and Eastern Europe, across which we are able to leverage our expertise in both retail operations and real estate, and our strong relationships with leading national and international retail brands”, CEO Axel Despriet says.
