Save 90 million dollars
Office Depot, which has previously cut 300 European jobs already, hopes it can save 90 million dollars (70 million euro) per year by the end of 2016 with this cut of another 1,100 jobs. The company’s international division is going through a restructuring, with the intent of becoming more streamlined in Europe.
Office Depot merged with OfficeMax last year and has a 17 billion dollar (13.3 billion euro) turnover. The chain has more than 2,200 stores in 59 countries, with some 64,000 employees worldwide.
