From 40 to 63 self-storage centers in the Netherlands
Shurgard Self-Storage has reached a deal with Austrian Immofinanz Group regarding the acquisition of its Dutch competitor City Box. That means its Dutch presence grows from 40 to 63 locations, while the 23 City Box centers will be rebranded into Shurgard locations on 1 July. City Box customers will not notice any changes aside from the name.
“This expansion is an excellent opportunity for us. It helps us to expand our offer in existing regions and expands our Dutch reach into new areas. It fits our expansion strategy, which is focused on profitable solutions to meet the growing storage space demand”, Marc Oursin said. He previously worked for Promodes and Carrefour and has been Shurgard Europe’s CEO since 2012.
Shurgard acquired 8 German self-storage centers at the start of 2015 and it will also strengthen its presence in the London area by adding another 3 locations.
