Women want women-made products
According to a recent Walmart study, women prefer to buy products made or invented by other women. As most Walmart customers are female, it makes commercial sense for the company to meet the request. It will add the new logo on every product that is created by a company with at least 51 % of shares under a woman’s control. Every product has been verified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council or WEConnect.
Walmart hopes this move will smooth things over with several women’s rights associations. Last year, the company faced plenty of heat because it had allegedly discriminated against pregnant women, who are apparently not eligible for wage increases or promotions.
