Tech start-up Daire wants to open a virtual shopping centre in Belgium this autumn. That would be a first for the country.
“Logical step”
The name of the new virtual shopping centre is already known: DaireLand. According to FashionUnited, the platform should open its doors in early September. Brands and retailers can already reserve a spot at the moment.
“If we get more virtual shops, and we want to convey the ‘shopping experience’ as realistically as possible, then offering a platform where we bring together the large offer is a logical step to strengthen and promote the retail sector,” says Toby Nguyen, founder and manager of Daire.
In recent months, several (major) brands, including Nike and Zara, have already taken their first steps on the metaverse. H&M is also considering opening a shop in the virtual world.
