Store chain Zeeman’s profit more than doubled in the past fiscal year compared to 2015. Turnover also grew several percent, mainly thanks to strong performances outside of the Netherlands.
Investments
Zeeman’s turnover in the past fiscal year reached 548 million euro, a 3.4 % increase compared to 2015 when turnover grew 1.3 %. Dutch turnover grew 2.2 % to 214.2 million euro and it grew 4.2 % to 333 million euro in the rest of Europe.
Zeeman mainly points to the 19.8 million euro investments it did in 2016 to explain the turnover increase. Its most remarkable investment was for its own eCommerce platform and it continues to add new stores. The chain currently has nearly 1,300 stores and wants to increase to 2,000 in the future.
In 2015, Zeeman generated a 3.5 million euro profit and despite major investments in 2016, it more than doubled it, to 8.3 million euro in 2016.
