Dutch Beter Bed Holding has raised its first quarter turnover by 7.6 %, partially thanks to its acquisition of Sängjätten. However, excluding that, turnover would still have grown 5 %.
Doing better in Germany
The company announced its turnover reached 115 million euro in the first quarter, but it refrained from publishing actual profit results. The Benelux region still contributes the most, thanks to an enormous leap forward in Belgium (+ 31.3 %). Dutch turnover went up 12 % and like-for-like orders grew 4.2 %.
There was still a 1.7 % like-for-like turnover drop in Germany, but that was much better than in previous quarter. For instance, like-for-like turnover plummeted 8.8 % in 2016’s third quarter and another 4.5 % in the fourth quarter. Total German turnover grew 0.7 %.
Spanish turnover went up 22.4 % and Switzerland achieved a modest 5.2 % turnover growth. Austrian turnover slumped 10.3 %, mainly because of a strong like-for-like comparison with the previous year, when it had a BettenMax stock sale.
