Belgian kitchen chain èggo continues its expansion: the Netherlands has become the fourth country in which the company is active, while in Belgium plans are revealed for a fiftieth store.
Breda is first Dutch store
Eggo has opened a pilot store in Breda, near the Netherlands’ border with Belgium. CEO Frédéric Taminiaux is proud with the expansion to the Netherlands, the fourth market his company has entered after Belgium, Luxembourg and Spain: “It is a beautiful, very large showroom, which we have launched in the midst of the brawl that many kitchen stores are making”, the CEO said.
Expansion is also on the cards in Belgium, where the chain currently has 49 stores. Even though the current focus is on the (Dutch speaking) North of the country, the next store – the fiftieth in Belgium – should open in February on the language border in the middle of Belgium. Spain is growing as well, with a sixth Kitchen House opening in Logroño and a seventh one should open in Valencia next month. Barcelona and Alicante should open before or just after the end of the year.
The first èggo store was opened in 2007, six years later the first store abroad opened in Madrid. In 2017, the chain launched a new store formula and sought new investors to finance its expansion both inside the Belgian home market and abroad.
