“One stop shopping
experience”
Antwerp was chosen because of its
position as epicentre of Belgian fashion,
according to HAY. “We want to sell each HAY
collection, from furniture to a wide selection of cash & carry
accessories. It will be a ‘one stop shopping experience’ for everyone who
visits the store”, says Kris Pieters, HAY agent and owner of the
Antwerp store.
HAY wants to offer design at democratic prizes. “Design is a democratic
right and we want to remove the seemingly untouchable aura that surrounds it,
to prove that design is also something
for the masses”, says Rolf Hay, who founded the furniture brand together with
his wife.
The brand has seen a rapid growth since its launch in 2003, with earlier flagship stores already opened in Copenhagen, Oslo, Munich and
Amsterdam.
