In the city center
The new Hema is located in a former Monoprix building, right in the heart of the historical and commercial city center. The two-floor store will employ twelve people and will offer consumers two tastings per week, consisting of Dutch products. This way, the store hopes to get its customers used to its particular array of food.
The Dutch chain, which opened its first French store in 2009, now has 39 stores in France, although only a handful are located in the city center. Most French Hema stores are located in shopping centers around the cities’ fringes.
Hema, founded in 1926 in Amsterdam, currently has nearly 700 stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, England, Germany, Luxembourg and France. It has more than 30,000 products and services on offer and employs some 11,000 people.
