German furniture web shop Home24 plans to open its first physical outlet store in Berlin on 23 April. It will use the novelty to sell furniture it can no longer sell online, like items with small flaws.
Former Fashion for Home building
The 1,000 sqm store will be located in a former Fashion for Home building, a company Home24 acquired last year. Customers can visit the store every day, except for Sunday.
Turnover at Home24 grew almost 50 % in 2015, but nevertheless the company still had to deal with losses. To make matters worse, growth has slowed down compared to the year before, which is why several companies have invested another twenty million euro – mainly to attract more regular customers. Home24’s customer base is still expanding, but only 1 million (out of 2.4 million) are considered to be active customers.
