Danish JYSK published a record 3.36 billion euro turnover in its 2016-2017 fiscal year. Backed by more than 2,500 stores worldwide, it achieved yet another record.
Further expansion
The company’s EBIT also grew to 444 million euro, up from a 3.12 billion euro turnover and 421 million euro EBIT last year. Its growth is mainly thanks to a range of new stores, just as it was last year.
““I am very satisfied with the result and the great effort from our employees. I also take pride in the fact that we have been able to significantly increase the number of customers. In my opinion this confirms the need for physical stores and great customer service, despite the increase in online shopping by JYSK and many other retailers,” says founder and owner of JYSK, Lars Larsen.
That is why JYSK will continue to open more than 100 stores every year and why it will continue to improve its current store network. To that end, it already introduced a new store formula in Sweden, Denmark and Poland. JYSK currently operates out of 49 countries and wants to at least double that number, starting with Chili and (in 2019) Ireland.
