Danish kitchen chain Kvik has appointed Claus Flyger Pejstrup as its new CEO. After a successful track record in omnichannel at Lego, his mission is to get the company back on track for growth.
Delayed announcement
Although Flyger Pejstrup took over the helm on 1 February, Kvik has waited until now to announce this news. The new CEO has to rekindle growth, after a difficult period. As a member of the Lego Board of Directors, he has already proved to be successful in globally expanding the physical stores, combined with a strong focus on online sales. Following his Lego career, Flyger Pejstrup was CEO of energy and telecom player Norlys.
Kvik currently has 180 franchise stores in thirteen countries and achieved a turnover of 1.5 billion Danish kroner (200 million euros) in 2023, but its growth has not been the fastest of late. The priority now lies in strengthening Kvik’s growth and market position. The new CEO points out that consumers want a complete experience, rather than just a transactional contact. He sees the interaction between physical showrooms and digital channels as essential in this, and has promised to make this his main focus.
With the arrival of Flyger Pejstrup, the company is ready for a new chapter. In several countries, including Belgium, the kitchen chain hopes to return to strong growth in the coming years by opening additional stores, combined with more digital sales.
