Schmidt Groupe, one of France’s main kitchen producers and sellers, has appointed Laurent Blum as its new general director. His main focus is the future of the group’s two brands, Schmidt and Cuisinella.
International career
The 52-year-old is an experienced manager, having fulfilled jobs at Rubbermaid, Procter & Gamble, Nestlé and Carrefour after gratuating from Grenoble’s management school. His main job at the Swiss group was international marketing director of Nestlé Waters (Perrier, Vittel, Contrex).
Last year, Blum moved to the Schmidt Groupe, where he is now appointed as general director and responsible for both of the group’s brands, which have a combined total of 700 stores in the whole of Europe. The group itself was founded in 1983 and grew to be a company of 7000 employees and a turnover of 1.63 billion euros.
