French home decoration chain Maisons du Monde needs a little TLC for itself, as sales have been falling for two consecutive years. In March, the new CEO will therefore unveil a transformation plan.
Almost a tenth less
Will reorganisations follow at Maisons du Monde? On 12 March, new CEO François-Melchior de Polignac will announce his transformation plans for the furniture and decoration chain. This is necessary, as the annual figures show that sales have fallen for the second year in a row.
The group already posted a 5 % sales decrease in 2022 and fared even worse in 2023, with a further 9.3 % drop to 1.1 billion euros. The French home market accounts for more than half of that (623 million), LSA reports. In-store sales fell by 7.4 %, online sales even dropped by 13.9 %. Maisons du Monde also ended the year with eighteen fewer shops than a year earlier, leaving the chain with just 340.
