Carpetright‘s Dutch branch can continue with new owners: two directors have taken over the company, with the aim of transforming it into a “future-proof” organisation.
“Innovative shop concept”
CEO Gideon Tienkamp and CFO Maikel Hofman have announced their recent take-over of Carpetright Netherlands on LinkedIn. The new owners have set out a strategy that should transform the company into a future-proof organisation. “This strategy focuses on technological advances, expanding the team of home advisers and remodelling the shops into an innovative, inspiring and future-oriented shop concept”, they say.
Carpetright has had a presence in the Netherlands for more than forty years, with 78 shops and 400 employees. The retail chain ran into serious financial problems in Europe this year: the British branch was partly taken over by rival Tapi, the sixteen Belgian shops closed after a bankruptcy.
