Intersport managed to raise its sales by 2 % in 2024. The Swiss sporting goods retailer added 83 stores, but is also aiming for greater digital visibility. However, faced with stiff competition, even that may not be enough.

Despite the international summer of sport – with the Olympic Games in France and the European football championships in Germany – Intersport’s sales rose only modestly last year, growing 2.1 % to 14 billion euros. By comparison, rival Decathlon managed to grow more than twice as fast, at + 5.2 %, to reach 16.2 billion euros in 2024.
