All over the US, everyone working in an Apple store has to be present at an important meeting on Sunday 22 May at 7 in the morning. The (very) early hour and the fact that this meeting coincides with the tenth anniversary of Apple’s retail activities stir some speculation: Apple will probably not let this anniversary go unnoticed.
A world of rumours…
Apple aficionado websites are full of rumours, almost all derived from the story that 10 to 15 people per store “would” have to work the night of 21 and 22 May. Their mobile phones “would” be confiscated and put in a locked room, they “would” have to sign a non-disclosure agreement so they could not reveal anything and they “would” also have received an encrypted zip-file – and only receive the password to open it on Saturday.
…but nothing is certain, except…
It is possible that Apple wants to give its employees extra training for the predicted new updates for iCloud or MobileMe, but many a fan hopes for the release of a novelty – or an important upgrade for something that already exists, to celebrate Apple retail’s ‘birthday’ today. As for now, nothing is certain – except for Apple’s capability to create a worldwide buzz among its followers.
