Dutch start-up company 3D Hubs, a marketplace for 3D printing services, attracted 7 million dollars’ worth (6.26 million euro) of funding. The money should help improve the service for professional users.
1,200 % growth
The largest new investors are investment company EQT Ventures and investment fund Balderton Capital, which already gave the company money in a previous funding round in September 2014. Back then, 3D Hubs attracted 3.4 million dollars (3 million euro).
3D Hubs is a place where people can get items 3D printed. Currently, 33,000 devices across 160 countries are connected to the network, with 40,000 prints every month, up 1,200 % compared to 2 years ago.
It will use the money to expand its workforce, from 30 to 50 employees, mainly located in its main office in Amsterdam. Founder Bram de Zwart also wants to improve the network, to better suit the needs of its professional users.
