“I confess…”
“I CONFESS… I too have an account at 3Suisses.
(Don’t you?)”. One sentence and a picture of a young lady with her eyes
covered, it was all 3Suisses needed to get its latest campaign picked up by all
French media.
The “top topical”, an advertising technique
where the advertiser uses current affairs to draw the spotlight on its own
activities, was an absolute winner. At the moment the whole of France is talking
about Jérôme Cahuzac and his Swiss bank account, mainly because he himself was
responsible for the fight against fiscal fraud and tax evasion.
New logistics platform
Earlier this month 3SI, the parent company of
3Suisses, has taken its new logistics platform in Hem (near Lille) into use.
With 40,000 sqm, it is the largest platform of its kind in the whole of France.
The platform is ran by subsidiary Dispeo, which
also offers its services to other mail-order and internet companies. It canhandle eight products per second (about 400,000 each day), six days out of
seven. The automatic sorting machines can handle more than a thousand orders at
once.
For 3Suisses the new platform, worth an
investment of 70 million euro, is the climax of its transformation from
mail-order company to e-commerce. The past
four years 3SI invested about 100 million euro in its online activities.
