Smaller sports
While Adidas’s regular website is mainly geared towards lifestyle and several larger sports (like basketball, running and football), its new website will focus on smaller sports. The new webshop is available in 6 languages and 16 countries (several European countries and China), but will only launch in the United States in 2015. That particular version will have an altered product range.
Each sport will get its particular section on the website, which will help athletes to find everything with one click. Adidas’ first web shop will become more streamlined this way.
Hermes NexTec, a German Otto subsidiary, has created the new website and will keep tracking it in the future. Adidas had previously stated that it forecasts a 500 million euro turnover from e-commerce in 2015 and this second website should contribute.
