“Several hundred customers”
No matter how many online orders customers place, they will get it delivered at home for free, as long as they pay the subscription fee. There are a few requirements though: the service is currently only available in Rotterdam and an online order has to exceed 70 euros before it can be sent to the customer for free. On the other hand, customers will not be bound by time frame issues.
“We have asked several hundred customers to participate and the pilot appeals most to people who often order at AH.nl“, AH spokesperson Anoesjka Aspeslagh told Distrifood.
Albert Heijn will run the trial for three months and then it will be shuttered regardless of how it is perceived. During and after the pilot, Albert Heijn will ask customers to share their opinion and only after an evaluation of those remarks will the company decide whether it will continue this subscription service. “We will first see how this project goes and only consider its continuation afterwards”, Aspeslagh said.
