Negotiate through mail
When a buyer sees something interesting, but feels the price is too high, he will be able to tap a button and enter an offer, which will go to the seller through mail. The latter can then accept, deny or alter the offer with all subsequent communication going through mail.
“In a recent survey of our sellers, nearly half of the respondents told us that the ability to negotiate prices with customers would be important to drive more sales on Amazon“, Amazon Marketplace’s vice-president Peter Faricy said.
The service is currently available with some 150,000 products in different categories (entertainment, art, coins and sports memorabilia) and Amazon intends to expand the service to another several 100,000 products in 2015. However, the “Make an Offer” option will not be available for Amazon’s own products.
